Coloring With Colored Pencils

I know I almost always color my stamp images with markers, but I recently fell in love again with colored pencils when hubster bought me this 120 Caran D’ache Pablo Colored pencils a while back.

I’m still learning the ropes to color using them, because although you can still have that gradient-looking colors as you would with markers it’s still pretty different. But I am surprised at how easy it is to color dark to light just using ONE colored pencils and odorless mineral spirits. That means I have 120 NEW COLORS! :D

So anyway, here’s my first ever card made using these badboys ;)

Sweet Valentine

Alrighty… It’s Tuesday and it’s the last day of January! Heehee. Boy time sure flies when you’re having fun! I had soooo much fun this past week creating a storm, especially Valentine’s Day cards. I actually love making Valentine’s Day cards, you can turn almost any image into a romantic or Valentine-y card hehe.

Continuing my craziness with physical paper heehee, I made this one. The side is actually a wrap around, so it’s almost like an overhanging that closes the card.

Oh, anyway I did a little digi-haul a few days ago hehe. Here are some new goodies I bought.

Cream and Pink Valentine

Hey everybody! Such a lovely Sunday it is today. Just got back from staying at a pretty swanky hotel here in Jakarta because my friend gave me a free one night stay perk there! Hehehe. So lovely! But I’m pretty knackered since I swam a lot yesterday and was walking around the local market there this morning. Just got home now heehee.

Here’s a card I wanted to share with you today.

It’s one of my Valentine’s Day series cards. I made quite a lot this past week, making me soooo off the mood to make CNY cards hahahaha. I was also accepted to be Traci Reed Designs’ creative team as a hybrid designer. Wheeeee! Here is one of my many creations using her kit.

Even More New Stuff

Sad news of the week is that throughout the week I have been PC-less. Yes, it broke down on me *sigh* it’s been repaired and hopefully it’ll be fine soon. I have been using my laptop and I miss my PC dearly because all my digital stash is there! I think that was the perfect excuse to buy new digi stuff lately haha.

Anyway, on to my new card. This is a simple wedding card, I mainly wanted to play with my new Copic marker colors , digital kit and also my new doily die from Spellbinders. I love both so much! I made the stick pin myself (yay!), I am totally addicted because it looks so nice. I also added Stickles to her sheer bottom part of the dress. What do you think?

I also have grown very fond of character stamps and have been saving some money to buy new sets (I have already purchased loads of label-type and sentiment stamps) of character stamps. I got my eyes on The Greeting Farm stamps. So cool!

Speaking of new, here are even more new  (digi) stuff I purchased a while back:

Somebunny Loves You, Hunny!

I was totally inspired when I saw a sketch for a Viva la Verve! Challenge over at SCS.

VLVJun11Week2Sketch

It’s a few weeks old but I love it so much and I used that as an inspiration for my card below.

I love how this card turned out, simple but cute! I love the colors so much and I especially love the sparkles from stickles which I added to emulate bunny fur. This is also another de-stashing since I bought so many new digi stuff over the past month. The kit used in this card was actually purchased in *wait for it…..* 2009! haha!

Anyway it’s been a while since I’ve shared my digi purchases. Here’s a few gem I bought over the past month.

Vintage

Still with my love for poppies, this is another card with a shabby and a bit vintage look to it. It also gives that natural look to the card. I’ve always wanted to use my Potter’s Clay Memento ink with subtle colors, and so here’s the result. Hope you like it :)
